ArkAsia Foundation Goes To School (Sekolah Pelita Nusantara)

Growing Young Guardians of Nature at Sekolah Pelita Nusantara

On 23rd of April 2026, Arkasia teamed up with the Conservation and Natural Resources Center of the Riau Islands (BKSDA Kepulauan Riau) to bring the spirit of conservation to Sekolah Pelita Nusantara through the Arkasia Goes to School program. The visit transformed an ordinary school day into an engaging and thought-provoking experience centered around environmental awareness.

With the theme “Peduli Konservasi” (Caring for Conservation), the session welcomed around 155 students from grades 7 and 8. The large number of participants created a lively atmosphere, filled with curiosity, excitement, and meaningful discussions about the natural world.

Rather than a one-way lecture, the session was designed to be interactive and relatable. Students explored:

  • The meaning and importance of conservation in everyday life

  • How their generation plays a crucial role in protecting wildlife

  • Real-life examples of how human behavior impacts ecosystems

The discussion encouraged students to reflect on simple, everyday choices—like managing waste responsibly, being mindful of animals, and taking care of their surroundings—and how these small actions can collectively create a lasting impact.

What stood out most was the students’ enthusiasm. Many eagerly participated, asked insightful questions, and shared their own perspectives on environmental challenges. Their engagement showed that awareness can grow quickly when given the right space and inspiration.

Through programs like Arkasia Goes to School, Arkasia continues to plant the seeds of responsibility and care for the environment. With knowledge and awareness, these students are not just learners—they are future protectors of our planet.
